The beginners obedience classes are for slightly older dogs that have not had formal training yet. You & your dog will learn: heel on lead, come when called, stays, sit, down, stand, being examined by a person, magic mat, taking food and toy away from the dog, brushing. Other topics are discussed and trained as well, like for instance: not jumping up, not pulling on the lead, ignoring live stock, not pulling on the lead when walking through a gate or door. If owners experience certain problems at home with their dog, they will get helpful hints and tips for that during the classes.

 

Whenever possible dogs will be able to play with other dogs in these sessions as well and will learn to be called away from playing with other dogs. Playing will only be done with dogs that are sociable with other dogs.
